Couple #5 - Casey & Greg
from St. Charles

"Greg and I studied Hotel and Restaurant Management at Mizzou
We fell in love in Eckles Hall, thinking no one had a clue
Somehow all our teachers knew it to be true
On our anniversary a chef created a 7-course meal, how cool!

Greg asked me to marry him before we had Tiramisu
What could a girl in love say other than I do?
We’ve planned many events for people, its true,
Please help us plan our special day and make our dreams come true."

FINAL BLOG

Greg and I would just like to send a huge THANK YOU and hug (if we could) to each and every person that voted for us during this contest. And especially thank you to our friends and family who lost sleep and worked super hard right along side us....we could not have done any of it without you all!!!! Greg and I are looking forward to planning a beach wedding sometime around September 2009....and it will be here before we know it! Best of luck to the couples left and we wish you happiness in your future marriages!!!!

Day 9

First, I just want to wish Erin and Scott all the best with their future and their lives together...you guys are an adorable couple and I wish nothing but the best for you both! As soon as the top 4 announcement was made calls, emails, and texts were sounding off! My Uncle Rob posted info. about me and Greg on his eBay site, Greg's Mom sent info. to the MU Alumni Association, and Dawn took flyers for someone to pass out at my high school! However, the moment that made all this feel very real was when my Dad got a little choked up when he called to congratulate me...I don't know what I would do without him and his support through all this. We finished off the night painting a highway sign that we will hopefully need (fingers and toes crossed!!) after the announcement of who moves on to round 3!!!! Thanks for all your support and bringing us closer to our dream wedding Y98 listeners!!!!! :)

Day 8

This was the first day this week I was actually able to sleep without waking up thinking!!! This past week is honestly a blur (good thing we took pics!) after all the time and effort Greg, myself, and our families have put in, but in the best way possible! I can honestly say that we did everything we could to spread the word and try to win votes...thank you to everyone who spent their time reading emails, texts, and voting!!!! Today we just tried to make a strong push to the finish so I stopped by my high school, met with some of my old wonderful teachers, and left some flyers with students who had after-school practice. Tonight closed with a final facebook message of thanks to everyone that joined our group and voted, and a relaxing dinner with my Dad, Dawn, and Bobby. It is crazy to believe 7 days has already passed! Thank you again to everyone for your support....Greg and I can't tell you enough how much you all mean to us!!! :)

Day 7

Today was the day I got to do what every little girl dreams of...look for the wedding dress of their dreams! I tried on many beautiful gowns until I found "the one"...thinking of walking down the aisle toward Greg in this dress made me cry because it was so perfect! All the brides-to-be were beautiful and this was just such a special day. While I was trying on dresses, Greg's little sister and some of her friends put flyers up in local businesses and on all the mailboxes in their neighborhood. Greg's Mom went with me to try on dresses but also made signs for her neighborhood entrances. My Dad even hit every car in Chesterfield Mall's parking lot with flyers...he gave up watching football!!!!! What more could a daughter ask for?!? As Round 1 is coming to a close I just want to thank everyone for their support, time, words of encouragement, and votes....this has been one whirl-wind of a week but I wouldn't change any of it!!! Thank you all!!!!! :)

Day 6

Today was so much fun!!!!!! Greg, his mom, his little sister Lori, Dawn, my Dad, and I prowled the streets of St. Charles! We hit 3 hot spots...Zumbehl and the intersection of Hwy 70, Mid Rivers Mall Drive, and the intersection of Hwy K&N. We stood in the intersections holding signs, waving, and explaining the contest. It was so neat to see the reactions of people when they read the "Y98 Mega Wedding Contestants" posters and realized we were trying to win this dream wedding. Getting honks of encouragement and thumbs up pushed us through the cold and kept our spirits high! Thank you to everyone who read the flyers we plastered on their windshield at Mid Rivers Mall and Wal Mart....and for your support....getting out with the people we love and spreading the word revived the Rallo-Lindsey rally team!!!! :)

Day 5

Today I went to work, for those of you that don't know I am a manager at Steak n Shake, and had all the servers wear the buttons that Greg's Mom made!!! They are super cute and were great conversation pieces! I expected to go home tonight and finish up some posters for tomorrow but was wonderfully surprised by Greg walking in to my work just as my shift was ending!!!!!!!! He and his Mom master minded a surprise visit for the weekend so that he could help us campaign in St. Charles...I thought he was stuck in Columbia working all weekend! Having Greg here to help this weekend means the world to me...thank you to everyone that is continuing to vote and support me and my amazing fiance!!! :)

Day 4

Today I was supposed to have a meeting after my shift at work but due to illness, was canceled. As a result I thought I should send out some messages and see if anyone was interested in going to the Blues game and doing some campaigning. I am glad that I did!!!! Greg's Mom, sisters, Greg's best man and one of his best friends came through BIG TIME!!!!! We were only able to hand out flyers for a little bit before the game since we arrived so close to game time but then stood and handed out hundreds to Blues fans as they left the game. Everyone in our group was decked out with signs on their backs, buttons on their jersey's, and posters...it was the best night!!!! Thank you to all the Blues fans that took a flyer and thank you to everyone for your continued support and votes!!!! :)

Day 3

Greg unfortunately has gone back to Columbia to finish up his last semester but he has started the rally in Columbia!!! He was able to put up flyers at my old work....thank you to the Beversteins...as well as in the Meat Lab at MU...they are both hopping with business!!! Tonight I am going to the Fox & Hound for a going away party (no drinks though, I have to work at 8!!!) and you better believe I am bringing flyers!!!! It was a long day at work today but I can't pass up the opportunity to get the word out even more!!! Greg's Mom is in the process of trying to make buttons for all of us to wear and I am going to burn the late night candle and make some iron-on shirts!!!! Thanks to everyone who is continuing to vote and support Greg and I!!!

Day 2

First off I just have to thank Greg's and my family and amazing friends! They have been a wonderful support with this! Also, we would just like to thank everyone who has voted...this is just such an honor to be a part of and thinking that I could be marrying Greg in the next month just makes my heart smile because I want nothing more than to be his wife.

I feel like yesterday never ended because today started off again with calls, emails, and flyers! Greg's best man called me and felt it was his duty to help us win....he is wonderful and will be campainging for us tonight at the Blues game since I am working the night shift! Thanks again to everyone for your votes, for being invovled in one of the most special and awsome events of our lives...........and GO BLUES! :)

Day 1

Today has been crazy...but in the very best way!!! It started with a call telling Greg and I that we were in the top 5 for the Mega Wedding Contest and I could not believe it!!!!! Naturally, we called and emailed and texted anyone and everyone we know to tell them to vote! We created a "facebook group" to let our college friends in on the adventure and I had signs made at Kinko's for family members cars and office desks! I also made a sign for my purse....it is a HUGE bag and hopefully that will get attention too!!! Day 1 of what is sure to be an awesome week and competition!!!!
